Evening Opening, Demonstrations, and a Guided Tour with Diego di San Giuliano for HZERO’s Third Birthday!
Friday, May 30, 2025 – Celebrate the third anniversary of the HZERO Museum with us!
It will be a day full of special events, extending later than usual: the museum will remain open until 9 PM (last entry at 8 PM), and the celebration will continue at the TÅG bistro!
Throughout the day, we have a full program of special activities. Starting with the Orient Express, which will once again run through the San Giuliano model railway layout, an unmissable opportunity to admire this iconic train on the tracks.
We’ll also bring our ROCO Edition 1960–2020 crane to life in the Officina space. This mechanical gem will captivate visitors with its extendable and liftable arm, showcasing the full potential of digital model engineering. Our expert staff will offer live demonstrations on train maintenance and cleaning, as well as how small diorama components are built.
If you’re passionate about trains, chances are you’ve always dreamed of being a train driver—and on this special day, we’ll make that dream come true, in H0 scale! Visitors will have the chance to operate one of our steam locomotives on a test track under the supervision of a technician: see the smoke billow from the chimney, hear the whistle, and watch it race down the tracks!
Don’t miss the free guided tour with Diego di San Giuliano, son of the founder
In memory of the Marquis of San Giuliano and in honor of the incredible model layout he donated to the city of Florence, a special guided tour will take place in the late afternoon, led by Diego di San Giuliano, the founder’s eldest son. He’ll share personal anecdotes and behind-the-scenes stories with visitors.
The guided tour is free and is conducted in Italian, but booking is required by emailing info@hzero.com (places are limited and subject to availability).
The celebration continues at TÅG, the museum’s bistro, with a special aperitivo dinner!
