Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year to visit the miniature train museum
Christmas is coming and the atmosphere at the HZERO museum becomes even more magical: the huge Christmas tree welcomes you at the entrance, along with a new small diorama in the bookshop prepared by our modelers for the occasion.
Crossing the magical red curtain, on the other hand, you can have fun searching the model layout for new characters put up for the occasion: the tree seller, Santa Claus at the station, a sleigh ready to deliver presents over the city. But it will also be Christmas on the tracks: our modelers are hand-decorating some trainsets in the Workshop with Christmas details, ready to hurtle down the HZERO tracks.
The magic continues on the second floor where you can run a Christmas train on the test track and let your children write their letter to Santa in a corner created just for them!
All the Christmas activities to try
Christmas at the HZERO Museum is not only in the decorations and atmosphere, but also in the events and activities we have planned for you: during the holiday season you will be able to attend free fairy tale readings, participate in HZERO Family workshops with an ad hoc calendar, and try your hand at a full-day model-making course. Here’s what to mark on your calendar:
Fairy tales in a carriage
Join the free reading of fairy tales for the whole family related to the world of trains and the imagery of travel with actress Enrica Pecchioli. Four dedicated dates:
Saturday, Dec. 28 (11 a.m. and noon) and Sunday, Jan. 5 (3 and 4 p.m.).
Reservations are required via email to info@hzero.com. The activity is already included in the entrance fee!
Family workshops
What better way to spend the vacations as a family than with games, scavenger hunts and creative activities? Here is the calendar of HZERO Family workshops: for families with children between 3-6 years of age, appointment on Dec. 15 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; Dec. 21 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; Dec. 28 4-5:30 p.m.; Dec. 29 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; Jan. 3 4-5:30 p.m.; Jan. 5 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and Jan. 6 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Instead, for families with children between 7-10 years old, the date is Dec. 27 4-5:30 pm.
Participation fee: €6 per participating child – €13 per participating adult (including museum admission)

Model Making Course – One Day Lab
On December 22, our specialized staff awaits you for our intensive ‘One Day Lab’ course in ‘Christmas Edition’ version that will guide you in making a small diorama. Try your hand at model railroading! If not during the holidays when?

Holiday Opening Hours
Plan your visit to the HZERO museum in the heart of Florence during the holidays. Here are the opening hours:
– Sunday, Dec. 8 regularly open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
– Tuesday, Dec. 24 special opening from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
– Thursday, Dec. 26 regularly open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
– Wednesday, January 1 open only from 1 to 7 p.m.
– Monday, January 6 regularly open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
We will be closed only on Wednesday, December 25 and Tuesday, December 31.
