WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
Workshops for Children in Florence: A Journey with the HZERO Museum
HZERO Family is a workshop program for children that HZERO offers to all families, centered on the theme of travel with its strong evocative and imaginative potential.
Visit the museum through an activity designed to be shared with all family members, discovering the model railway through games, explorations, and treasure hunts.
All participants—children and adults alike—are immersed in the experience of the visit and the workshop activity, traveling with their minds, bodies, and hearts.
Starting this year, there are two different workshops to choose from, both led by an educator from L’Immaginario and divided by age group (2-3 years, 3-6 years, 7-10 years).
€10 CHILDREN, €17 ADULTS (INCLUDES ADMISSION)

'All Aboard Stories' Workshop (new for 2025)
This new HZERO workshop is centered on the narrative potential of the railway layout, which becomes a driving force for inventing micro and macro stories where participants play an active role in co-creating a collective tale.
The activity begins with an exploration of the layout, during which museum educators present its key elements (a carriage, a track, train wheels, and main features of the landscape such as a house or a tree). Once the group moves into the workshop space, these elements are used by the educator to build a story in which the previously shown objects come to life and become the protagonists. The transformation of meaning happens in an engaging and intuitive way, through storytelling brought to life with symbolic objects and materials. According to the age group, the workshop takes different forms. For younger children, the story is mostly narrated by the educator in a more theatrical manner. For older children, this can serve as an introduction, followed by the invention of a new story created collectively by the group. The storytelling is then followed by a more hands-on session, where recycled materials are used to create a tactile collage to take home, along with a Polaroid photo souvenir.
The activity is designed for three different age groups: 2–3 years, 3–6 years, and 7–10 years.
The course is held in Italian. For special requests, please write to info@hzero.com

'On a journey' Workshop
In this workshop, set within the museum dedicated to the world of trains, participants are invited on an engaging and multidisciplinary journey centered on the theme of travel. The activity draws on the evocative power of the railway layout and its immersive setting to stimulate the imagination and creativity of both children and adults.
A museum educator guides participants in exploring the museum and its unique features, encouraging them to let themselves be inspired by the different scenarios represented.
For younger children, the museum visit is combined with play and role-play. Through movement, theatrical storytelling, and hands-on activities, participants explore the world of trains in all its forms, eventually creating their own carriage to become part of a large collective train. For older children, the workshop emphasizes creativity: after investigating the many scenarios and characters that animate the railway model, they are encouraged to imagine their ideal travel destination, sketching it on paper and combining all drawings into a single large composition.
Activity proposed for two different age groups: 3-6 years, and 7-10 years.
The course is held in Italian. For special requests, please write to info@hzero.com
